Post by f***@hotmail.comPost by j***@hotmail.comDuring the Nixon reign while Ike golfed, the East Coast got stuck with the bloated IL-IN-OH-PA-NY tollroad scam. Once the Interstate bill passed, the toll-free expressways were built nationwide.
Now Pence & Gang will hit all interstates with tolls starting with trucks.

"The Eisenhower Expressway may become something else in a few years—a tollway, at least in part—if state transportation planners get their way.
Plans to add a couple of toll lanes to the Stevenson Expressway (Interstate 55) so far are going so well that his staff is considering "a similar concept" to ease congestion on other crowded highways "starting with the Eisenhower” (I-290), said Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn."

"The free ride ends Tuesday on the completed western section of Illinois Route 390, formerly known as the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway, which has become the first all-electronic tolling road on the Illinois Tollway system.
Drivers should make sure their I-PASS transponder is working and their accounts are up-to-date, because tolling on that stretch will be frequent – with a toll taken about every mile and a half – and violations will mount up fast.
Tolls for passenger vehicles range from 20 cents to 60 cents. Tolls for trucks on 390 range from 40 cents to $3.10 per transaction, with overnight discounts.
Tolling will be more frequent on 390 because of the high number of interchanges, Tollway officials explained. Though individual tolls will be low, overall it will be a more expensive route than the average on the system at about 20 cents per mile for passenger cars....
The Elgin-O'Hare was built as a state highway in 1993. But federal and state lawmakers acted in 2013 to allow it to be rebuilt, widened and incorporated into the Tollway system."
